X16 Remote Control System
The X16 is a 16 channel Radio Remote Control designed for use in harsh environments
and primarily hydraulic solenoid control on mobile applications. The
handheld transmitter not only provides portability for in-cab or outside
use the system completely eliminates all wiring harnesses to the
solenoids, greatly reducing installation costs and increasing reliability
and serviceability. The microprocessor design allows the system to
be rapidly customized for and O.E.M. application.

System Overview:

The transmitter is housed in a small weather tight aluminum
box. The top of the box is fitted with customized switch blocks to
accommodate any combination of pushbuttons, toggles, or joysticks to
suit the application. An internal set of dip switches allows the
transmitter to be coded to match the receiver so it will not interfere
with nearby systems. When the user selects a function, the
transmitter sends a signal to the receiver, which in turn activates the
selected output. Two functions may be selected at the same
time. Besides being handheld, a number of mounting options are
available including: fixed, magnetic, and belt-clip.

|
|
The receiver is housed in a heavy duty plastic box with a clear
cover. The clear cover allows the user to see the position of the
dip switches as well as the led indicators connected to each output.
There are 17 total outputs, 16 for the 16 functions and 1 for an unloader
solenoid. A set of dip switches allows any of the outputs to activate
the unloader at the same time. Another set of dip switches allows
each output to be momentary or maintained. In the case of
maintained, each activation alternately turns the output on or off.
|
The system operates at 418 Megahertz in the non-licensed
FCC ISM band (Instrument, Scientific, Medical). This band is well
suited for this application because of such limited use. The range
is about 600 ft if antennas are in line-of-sight. Most applications
tend to be far less and many are from one point to another on the same
piece of equipment, insuring no loss of signal.
